Forest Acres Financial Advisor
Choosing a financial advisor is a personal decision. You want to work with someone who understands where you are today, where you want to go, and what matters most to you.
At E.P. Wayne Financial Group, we take the time to understand your situation before making recommendations. We work with individuals, families, and business owners on retirement planning, investments, wealth management, and other financial decisions that require more than a one-size-fits-all answer.
Rooted in Forest Acres

Forest Acres is home to longtime residents, military families near Fort Jackson, and professionals from USC and the VA Hospital — many of whom are juggling a pension from a first career, a 401(k) left behind from a job change, or the shift from a steady paycheck to living off savings. Whether you're picking up groceries on Forest Drive or you've lived on the same tree-lined street for twenty years, we work with Forest Acres neighbors on the same core questions: when to retire, what to do with an old 401(k), and how to make a portfolio hold up under a real household budget.
Our office is nearby at 17 Calendar Court, Suite 4, and we work with clients throughout Forest Acres, Columbia, and the surrounding Midlands.
The Questions Usually Come Before the Investments

People don't always contact a financial advisor because they need another investment to buy. Often, they're trying to make sense of a decision.
Those decisions can involve retirement, investments, a business, or simply figuring out whether the financial plan already in place still makes sense.
Sometimes someone simply wants another set of experienced eyes before making an important financial decision.
That's where we come in.
Ed Peagler is President and primary financial advisor at E.P. Wayne Financial Group. He works with individuals, families, and business owners on financial planning, retirement planning, investment management, employer retirement plans, and insurance and risk management.
A Financial Plan Should Work in Real Life
A financial plan can look good on paper and still become difficult to follow when life doesn't go according to plan. Markets change. Income changes. Retirement dates move. Businesses grow, slow down, or get sold. Spending rarely follows a perfect projection.
That's why we don't view a financial plan as something you create once and put in a drawer. We use it to help evaluate decisions as circumstances change—what you can afford to do, what risks you're taking, and whether your investment strategy still supports what you're trying to accomplish.
The goal isn't to hopefully predict what will happen. It's to be prepared for what might.
Why Independence Matters
Read More▾
E.P. Wayne Financial Group is a local, independent financial advisory firm. We're not a bank or a large national financial-services company with a proprietary lineup of products. We don't take a cookie-cutter approach or simply make recommendations based on a generic risk questionnaire. Our independence allows us to evaluate financial and investment solutions and make recommendations based on each client's circumstances.
We don't charge a separate fee to meet, create a financial plan, or review an existing account. We see planning and account reviews as an important part of the work we do with our clients, rather than separate services charged each time.
Our clients have a choice in how they work with us. We provide both fee-based advisory services and commission-based brokerage services. The relationship we establish depends on what makes sense for the client and the services they choose. It's important to us that our clients understand how we're compensated and what they're paying for before they decide to work with us. We serve as fiduciaries in our advisory relationships.
For us, independence means having the ability to take a what-makes-sense approach — understanding each client's goals and circumstances, while providing the same quality of service and level of care we'd expect for ourselves.
Starting the Conversation
The first meeting is an opportunity to talk through where things stand, the goals ahead, and any financial decisions that need to be considered. There is no expectation that everything should be figured out before coming in. The first step is understanding your situation and determining where we may be able to help.
We'll explain what we see and whether we believe we're a good fit. If we are, we'll talk about how we work and what comes next.
